Clearogen Review

Acne is tricky and out right annoying. Getting rid of acne with one-step would be nice, but when all is said and done it makes sense to use an acne fighting system. With an acne fighting system you clear up existing acne, prevent new acne, and keep the skin healthier looking and that system might be Clearogen.

Clearogen is a three step system for acne developed by a Board Certified dermatologist (most skincare products should be). Clearogen really tries to set itself apart as the treatment that stops DHT; this hormone stimulates oil glands which often lead to excess oil that clogs pores. Without a whole lesson on acne, let’s see if Clearogen can actually do what it says it does.

Clearogen combines FDA approved acne medications alongside natural ingredients to help clear acne and break the acne cycle. Step one of Clearogen is the Clearogen Foaming Cleanser. The cleanser purifies the skin from the daily damage of dirt, makeup, bacteria and you name it. In order to do this, the formula contains 2% salicylic acid to open pores and kill bacteria. The use of Di-PPG-2-Mureth-10 Adipate helps reduce skin irritation and there are a few other ingredients in the formula, but nothing screams “better than most cleansers.”

The Clarifying Toner is step two for Clearogen. The bottom line about this toner is that it is supposed to reduce redness and inflammation and it can with 1% salicylic acid and witch hazel.

The final, and most important, step is the Acne Lotion. The Acne Lotion is an anti-DHT treatment using 2.5% benzoyl peroxide that helps reduce bacteria and increase skin cell turnover to promote fresh skin. There are additional ingredients and botanicals that are suggested to help reduce DHT.

The most comforting thing about Clearogen is that the official website offers plenty of research and studies that support the science behind the product. At first glance, the treatment looks average but the information provided alleviates concern.

For clear skin with Clearogen, you are looking at spending $75. It’s not cheap, but healthy skin comes at a price.
